Endoscopic ear surgery is currently widely applied in middle ear and lateral skull base procedures, driving the development of ear surgery towards minimally invasive approaches and function preservation. Endoscopic techniques offer many advantages. However, the learning curve is relatively steep, requiring surgeons to overcome challenges such as single-handed operation and a lack of spatial awareness. Through in-depth theoretical study, temporal bone dissection training, and gradual surgical practice, this technique can be gradually mastered. The combined use of endoscopy and microscopy further enhances the flexibility and precision of lateral skull base surgeries. Repeated cycles of anatomical study, observation, and practice, along with timely updates in knowledge and skills, lay the foundation for improving the outcomes of endoscopic ear surgery.
