Dissecting popliteal cyst in a child with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract

A 14 year old white female with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis developed the sudden onset of pain and swelling in the right calf. Arthrography revealed a dissecting popliteal cyst. Symptoms abated following an intra-articular injection of triamcinolone acetonide.
