The nurse's role in caring for people with learning disabilities

Abstract

Nurses caring for people with learning disabilities are facing role confusion and virtual extinction as a consequence of changes in care provision. This article draws from the results of a working party established to clarify their role and offers a model which can provide comprehensive and quality health care.
