Drug News Perspect. 2007 Apr;20(3):165-9. doi: 10.1358/dnp.2007.20.3.1092097.

Abstract

Statins, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, are widely used for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Recent experimental and clinical studies evaluated the effect of statins on immune and inflammatory cells, and the efficacy of statins in treatment of immune diseases. This review discusses the roles of statins in the treatment of immune and inflammatory diseases.
