Objective: To study anti-influenza virus effect of Arctigenin in vivo.
Methods: The influences on lung index, death rate of mice infected by influenza virus were observed in the mice infected with virus from nose.
Results: Experiments in vivo showed that Arctigenin at the concentration of 100 microg/kg and 10 microg/kg for the intranasal treatment markedly inhibited the lung consolidation of mice pneumonia caused by the infection of influenza virus. Arctigenin at the concentration of 100 microg/kg prolonged the survival time of mice infected with influenza virus.
Conclusion: Arctigenin may be effective on treating influenza.
